Amazon Artist Retreat
Create and be inspired by the magic of the jungle.

Spend 10 amazing days creating art in one of the most remote places in the entire world. The Amazon Artist Retreat is designed for artists who are seeking adventure and inspiration from the western Amazon of Peru. The retreat is held at the Tamandua Jungle Station located a few hours from the small city of Puerto Maldonado, Peru. Designed for research and conservation, the Tamandua Station is fully equipped with a kitchen, open-air bed rooms, running water, and western style toilets. Walking trails, massive kapok trees, jungle swamps, and vibrant wild life surround the Jungle Station.
On this retreat, artists have the unique opportunity to form a personal relationship with the jungle and incorporate their experiences visually into a body of artwork that will be displayed on the last day of the program.
Being surrounded by the jungle and other creative artists, artists will participate in guided workshops to learn authentic art making techniques and new contemporary philosophies for art making. Artists will work together and individually to explore their own creative voices and skills of collaboration.
In addition to the arts, artists will explore the jungle with expert guides to learn about the natural flora and fauna of the area. Jungle activities will include species identification, sight and sound observation; tree climbing, canopy viewing, swimming, conservation education and visiting an active culpa.
Yoga and bodywork is also a great component of this retreat. While away from the stress of everyday life, artists are encouraged to take this time to rejuvenate, focus, and relax. A 60 min yoga class is offered daily to help stretch and recharge muscles from daily activities and will enhance body and environmental awareness through meditation and activation.
One free Massage or Reiki treatment is also included in the program. These practices help individuals to tap into their creative resources and become more present in their bodies and environment.
